Type depository of L. laeviusculus is unknown. Lectotype female of Haematopinus columbianus Osborn on Spermophilus columbianus, Pullman, Washington, July 1896 (Type No. 5178), and the neotype of Linognathus montanus (Osborn), near Fort Colins, Colorado, 11 Sept. 1892, Stannard, from spotted gray squirrel, are in the National Museum of Natural History Collection, Washington, D.C.
